Hello! I am Sgt. Manuel Mejia and I command the Recruitment Unit. Thank you for taking the time to view our page. The mission of the recruitment unit is to perform recruitment activities that will help find good candidates for the Auxiliary Program. This unit is one of the most important part of the program it helps to maintain a high standard for the department when it comes to new recruits. We station our operations usually in a public forum where we can sit and talk to our community members about the program. Taking time out to speak to the community really helps drive the NYPD's initiative of public awareness of our duties and our presense. You can find our unit in schools, parks, subway stations, and many other public arenas. Our focus is to bring in those who have an interest in the Auxiliary Police program and to strengthen public perception.
